Now that you have had an opportunity to review the scriptures regarding humility and pride, answer the following questions:

1.     Why should the people of God seek to be meek and humble?

2.     What troubles are caused by pride, arrogance, ego, self-exaltation, haughtiness, and self-will?

3.     What do the scriptures teach about humility, gentleness, meekness, and lowliness in contrast to pride, self-will, selfishness, and arrogance?

Application for Growth:

From the self-evaluation list, pick a few specific areas that you were convicted by. 

Using the template, “I surrender”, consider and write out how, by God’s grace, you will practically begin surrendering this area to God and how you will begin applying this in your life. 

Share this list with your parents.  Express to your parents how they can encourage you and pray for you during the weeks ahead.

Think of one person in your life who most demonstrates this character quality.  Using the template from titled, “Reflection Letters", Write out specific areas in which you have personally observed growth or this character quality in their life.  Send this paper to them as a means of encouragement.
